Demolition

Silverado's Nor Cal Bridge team traveled down to San Luis Obispo County in September of 2024 to demolish a concrete beam span bridge as part of the SLO 46 Corridor Improvement Project. The Bridge used to support Hwy 41, spanning approximately 200 feet over Cholame Creek, and took 3 weeks to complete. the Bridge was comprised of the original span, built in the 1940s, as well as an additional expansion added in the 1970's. A special challenge of the project was the environmentally sensitive area. Since the work was preformed during the end of the summer we were able to preform the demolition from inside the creek-bed. However, special care had to be taken to clear the creek-bed of all concrete debris at the end of every week.
