CMC Metals facility project is the industrial cleaning and demolition of the former Commercial Metals Company (CMC) steel salvage and rebar fabrication mill. Since the 1950’s, the 100-acre site housed multiple industrial buildings performing several operations that included receiving and melting of steel scrap, production and fabrication of rebar, and processing of steel slag. Silverado was contracted for the removal and disposal of asbestos, regulated and hazardous materials. Demolition of 36 structures totaling approx. 293,500 SF. Demolition of approx. 3,664,000 SF of site improvements including concrete flatwork, asphalt paving, scales and ancillary support structures. Demolition of concrete slabs and foundations down to 10ft below grade. Concrete Crushing to 2” minus and used to backfill deep voids under the Melt Shop.
