The Alemany circle undercrossing is located on route 101 and is one of the most heavily traveled commuter corridors in the Bay Area. Cal-Trans had plans to improve the highway. The lessening of commuter traffic on the road due to the pandemic provided the perfect opportunity to expedite the designed improvement plans.

Silverado was contracted to remove and replace the bridge deck. This project incorporated the staged removal of the concrete road and barriers.

The project was split into 2 phases, bridge removal and removal of the concrete safety barrier. Due to the project schedule and site area constraints, bridge deck demolition activities occurred concurrently with concrete processing and off haul. Working 24/7 to complete, Silverado performed their demolition scope in two shifts, both originally scheduled to be 26 hours long.
